Jharkhand Railway Stations Set for Revamp Under “Amrit Bharat Station” Scheme

Get ready for a new Jharkhand Railway Stations Under the ambitious “Amrit Bharat Station” scheme by the central government, 18 railway stations in the state are about to undergo a major transformation and modernization. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to kick off this initiative on February 26, 2024, through an online inauguration ceremony.

According to the official statement released by the Indian Railways administration, the redevelopment of these stations will come at a cost of Rs. 578.95 crore. The stations earmarked for renovation under this scheme include Tata Nagar, Chakradharpur, Gamharia, Sini, Chaibasa, Dangaposi, Bada Jamda, Balsaing, Bano, Gangaghat, Ramgarh Cantt, Govindpur Road, Orga, Muri, Silli, Lohardaga, Tatisilwai, and Namkom.

Additionally, as part of the Amrit Bharat Station scheme, Jharkhand will witness the construction of 44 road overbridges and underpasses, with an estimated cost of Rs. 546.01 crore. The plan also includes the refurbishment of station waiting rooms, booking offices, lounges, cafeterias, and restrooms.

But that’s not all – the makeover will also involve improvements to platforms, ample lighting inside and outside the station, vehicle parking facilities, CCTV cameras for security, installation of solar panels on station buildings, energy-efficient LED lights, rainwater harvesting, and eco-friendly bio-toilets.

Prior to this, on February 25, 2024, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for nine health projects across seven districts of Jharkhand. These health projects, to be completed by the Building Construction Department, aim to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Ranchi, Garhwa, Giridih, Pakur, Devghar, Dumka, and Kodarma.

The central government is gearing up to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a total of 71 projects related to railways, roads, and healthcare, timed strategically two months before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. These initiatives come as a response to long-standing demands for solutions to these issues by the people of the state. Stay tuned for the exciting developments ahead!
