On February 26th, a significant day awaits the Indian Railways as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several new rail overbridges and underpasses across the country. The event will also mark the foundation laying of various new projects, including bridges and underpasses.

Highlights of the Inaugurations:

  • Underpasses to be Inaugurated:
    • Between Gomo and Telo, two underpasses and 17 newly constructed underpasses will be inaugurated in various cities under the jurisdiction of Dhanbad Railway Division in Jharkhand, at a cost of ₹226.71 crores.
    • A new underpass construction plan will commence at Bhaddieh railway gate in Pathardih.
    • Near the Barakakana-Gadhwa Road and Hazaribagh Road stations, new railway overbridge construction plans by the railway and state governments will also be initiated.

Railway’s Preparation for PM’s Mega Program:

In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s mega program, the railway has deployed its full force. From senior officers to supervisors, all will be present at different stations where the programs are scheduled, as listed below.

  • Significant Impact of New Underpasses:
    • The proposed new underpass in Pathardih will ease travel from Mohan Bazaar to Sindri Block and Rakhitpur, making commuting more convenient.
    • Currently, the railway gate at Vaishali for goods trains causes significant traffic jams daily. Journey from Mohan Bazaar to Pathardih Rail Colony is also challenging. The construction of underpasses will alleviate the difficulties faced by a large population.

  • Telo-Chandrapura: 2 underpasses

  • Hazaribagh Road-Keshwari
