Babulal Hembrom, the first weightlifter from Jharkhand to participate in an international competition, has won two bronze medals in Peru. He is currently training at the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS). Babulal made Jharkhand and the nation proud by securing two bronze medals in the 49 kg weight category for snatch and clean & jerk at the Under-17 Youth World Weightlifting Championship held in Lima, Peru, from May 22 to May 26, 2024.
