Ranchi, a smart city in India, has once again made its mark by winning accolades at the India Smart City Contest Awards held in Madhya Pradesh. Under the leadership of Vinay Kumar Chaube, Secretary of the Urban Development Department, a team associated with the Smart City initiative has been honored by the President for their outstanding contributions. This achievement has been attributed to the leadership of the state government in Jharkhand.

After receiving the award, the team from Jharkhand acknowledged the leadership of the state government and expressed gratitude to the central government as well.{Ranchi Wins India Smart City}

Secretary Vinay Kumar Chaube stated that under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Ranchi Smart City has established itself as a top performer in the implementation of the Smart City mission. This recognition has been earned through hard work and dedication.

The award was presented to the Jharkhand team by President Draupadi Murmu at the India Smart City Conclave 2023, held on Wednesday at the Brilliant Convention Center in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

In the presence of Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs in the Government of India, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, among other dignitaries, Hardeep Singh Puri congratulated the Jharkhand government and Ranchi Smart City for this achievement.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his congratulations to Ranchi Smart City for this success and praised the efforts of the Urban Development and Housing Department, as well as the Ranchi Smart City Corporation. He expressed hope that Ranchi’s performance will leave an indelible mark on the national stage in the future.

Vinay Kumar Chaube, Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department in the Jharkhand government, commended the entire Ranchi Smart City team and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his guidance. Amit Kumar, CEO of the Smart City Corporation, expressed appreciation for the department’s leadership and emphasized their commitment to further improvement.

The award is based on the India Smart City Contest Award 2022. Before the decisions were made, information was gathered about special efforts from all 100 cities across the country. Subsequently, the ministry’s team visited each city to verify their claims.

Ranchi had submitted proposals in various categories, including city security, traffic management, urban mobility, social aspects, and land monetization. Based on Ranchi’s performance in these areas, the award was conferred upon them.

Ranchi Smart City continues to make strides in the field of urban development and sustainability, earning recognition and applause on the national stage.
