Jharkhand Police Heroes Shine on Republic Day 2024: Medals for Bravery and Service

Medals for Bravery and Service: On the distinguished occasion of Republic Day 2024, the valor and dedicated service of Jharkhand’s IPS officers, police personnel, and officers were recognized with medals. The ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi, where Shri Ramesh Bais, the Governor of Jharkhand, personally awarded the medals to the deserving individuals.

Diverse Recognition Across Departments: A total of 40 medals were conferred, acknowledging outstanding contributions in diverse fields such as anti-Naxal operations, crime prevention, cyber security, traffic management, and social service. The recipients comprised 12 IPS officers, 17 police officers, and 11 personnel from various departments, each honored for their exceptional achievements.

Recognized as the Director General of Police, Jharkhand, Shri Anurag Gupta was honored for his distinguished service, reflecting his commitment to law enforcement.

Shri Prashant Anand, IPS: Police Medal for Gallantry

Shri Prashant Anand, Inspector General of Police, Special Branch, earned the Police Medal for Gallantry for leading a successful operation against Naxalites in Latehar district in 2019.

Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, IPS: Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Palamu Range, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh received recognition for his meritorious service, contributing significantly to improving law and order and reducing Maoist violence in Palamu region.

Shri Amit Kumar Singh, IPS: Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Superintendent of Police, Jamshedpur, Shri Amit Kumar Singh was awarded for his meritorious service, particularly for his initiatives in curbing cyber crimes and enhancing public safety in Jamshedpur city.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, IPS: Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Superintendent of Police, Khunti, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, was acknowledged for his commendable role in rescuing 34 children from a trafficking racket in Khunti district in 2020.

Shri Rajesh Kumar Sinha, IPS: Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Superintendent of Police, Traffic (Ranchi), Shri Rajesh Kumar Sinha, earned recognition for his innovative measures in managing traffic and reducing road accidents in Ranchi city.

Governor’s Commendation: Governor Shri Ramesh Bais extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the medal recipients, commending them for their dedication and courage.
