Ranchi’s 2024 thrilling transformation in the new year of 2024, thanks to the arrival of 244 brand-new city buses. A fantastic gift to the city, these buses, operated by the Jharkhand State Transport Corporation (JSTC), are not just wheels on the road; they symbolize a leap into a future of enhanced connectivity and unparalleled comfort for commuters.

Step aboard these modern marvels, and you’ll find state-of-the-art features like GPS, CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and digital ticketing systems. But it’s not just about cutting-edge technology; these buses are also champions of the environment, cruising through the city on clean and green CNG fuel.

But that’s not all that’s brewing in Ranchi this year. Brace yourselves for a monumental shift in sanitation and waste management. The Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO) has declared war on the Jhiri landfill site’s mountain of garbage, vowing to eliminate it by March 2024.

Picture this: the waste that once burdened the city will now be transformed into valuable resources. The JUIDCO plans to process the garbage, converting it into compost, RDF, and even biogas. And that’s not the end of the story – a cutting-edge waste-to-energy plant is in the works, poised to generate a whopping 10 MW of electricity from the discarded waste.

As the new year dawns, the residents of Ranchi are bubbling with optimism, eagerly anticipating a cleaner, greener, and more livable city. With open arms and enthusiastic cheers, they welcome 2024 as the year of transformation and progress for their beloved hometown
