Overview
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has created history by producing the highest ever coal production of 76.09 million tonnes (MT) in the financial year 2022-23, continuing its phenomenal performance. This is an increase of 11% over the previous year. All areas including CCL’s Amrapali Project 18 MT, Magadh Project, 15.6 MT contributed significantly in this golden performance.
CCL Breaks Coal Dispatch Records
CCL has also performed best in coal dispatch breaking all previous records by dispatching 75.03 MT of coal which is 4.5% more than the previous record.
CCL Sets Record in OB Removal
Along with this, a record has been created in OB removal by removing 107 million cubic meters of overburden. CMD CCL Shri PM Prasad while congratulating on the excellent performance said that under the guidance of Hon’ble Coal Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi, Coal Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena and Chairman CIL Shri Pramod Agrawal, CCL has achieved its production target of 76 Million Tonnes (MT). Achieved 76.09 MT while crossing the Rs. He also thanked the state government and the district administration for their cooperation. Also praised the contribution of trade union representatives, public representatives, stakeholders and all those directly and indirectly involved in the success of the company. Congratulating the entire team of CCL, he said that this is the best performance since the inception of the company.
CCL’s Efforts for the Environment and Society
In the last financial year, CCL has provided permanent employment to 161 beneficiaries in order to acquire land. Similarly, while working towards reducing carbon emissions, CCL is going to set up a 20 MW solar power plant in Piparwar area at a cost of about 143 crores. In the command areas, last year more than 3 lakh 75 thousand saplings have been planted in 178.85 hectare area.
CCL’s Contributions to Society
The past financial year has been an unforgettable year for CCL. This year the historic Coal India Marathon was organized by CCL under the aegis of Coal India Limited, in which around 6000 runners from all over the country took part and made this marathon successful. Many schemes are being run by CCL for the welfare and overall development of the society. In this series, a central library with 5000 seats will be constructed soon by CCL in the Ranchi University campus at a cost of about 65 crores.
