Sarhul Procession Controversy
During a procession in the Ranchi, an objectionable tableau by the Central Sarna Committee has led to the district administration filing a case for violation of the code of conduct. Following statements by the magistrate Vinay Kumar, a primary case has been registered against 26 individuals, including the president of the Central Sarna Committee, at the Kotwali police station. It was stated that the tableau presented by the Central Sarna Committee depicted former Chief Minister Hemant Soren in jail, along with a slogan stating that the lock of the jail will break and Hemant Soren will be released. The tableau implied that Hemant Soren is being oppressed by the government in the fight for Jharkhand’s development. The primary case mentions that the tableau, led by Fulchand Tirkey, misused a religious occasion for political motives, which is a violation of the model code of conduct. In the primary case, the magistrate has named 26 individuals, including Fulchand Tirkey, Pramod Ekka, Prashant Toppo, Nirmal Pahan, Sanjay Tirkey, Vinod Uravan, Raju Uravan, Surendra Munda, Pancham Lohra, Vinod Bhagat, Shankar Lohra, Ram Uravan, Akash Uravan, Dinu Uravan, Balku Uravan, Kishor Lohra, Sonu Tirkey, Kuldeep Sanga, Somra Uravan, Lalit Kachhap, Pradeep Lakda, Ravi Lohra, and Bhuneshwar Lohra.
Additionally, a case has been registered at the Kotwali police station based on the statement of magistrate Vinay Kumar regarding the tableau presented by Pipartoli of Argoda. The primary case has been filed against the president and others involved in presenting the tableau. The tableau depicted tribals being suppressed by the police force. The slogan “Adani, leave our land” was also written on the tableau.
