Justice Rajesh Kumar of the Jharkhand High Court heard a criminal writ petition challenging the FIR lodged against Central Minister Arjun Munda at the Dhurwa police station. During the hearing, the court accepted the plea of the petitioner’s lawyer and waived the penalty amount of 1.25 lakh rupees imposed on them. Additionally, the court maintained the stay on the action against the accused.

Prior to this, the petitioner’s lawyer Prashant Pallav had appeared. He urged the court to waive the penalty imposed on Arjun Munda, which the court accepted. During the previous hearing, without rectifying the error in the petition, a penalty of 1.25 lakh rupees was imposed on Arjun Munda. The penalty amount was to be paid to the Advocate Clerk Association of the Jharkhand High Court.

Arjun Munda had filed a criminal writ petition on April 11, 2023, during the Secretariat March in Ranchi, demanding the cancellation of the FIR registered at Dhurwa police station under case number 107/2023.

Meanwhile, Justice Rajesh Kumar’s court heard the interim relief petition filed by 27 leaders of the BJP, including Pradesh Adhyaksh Babulal Marandi, in the Secretariat March case. The court maintained the interim relief (stay on action against the accused) and set the next hearing date for July 25. It is noteworthy that the petitioner, along with Babulal Marandi and 27 others, had filed a criminal writ petition. The petitioners challenged the FIR filed at Dhurwa police station.
