High Court of Jharkhand has imposed a fine of 1.25 lakh rupees on Central Minister Arjun Munda for errors in the petition. The court has directed the amount to be deposited with the High Court Advocates’ Association. However, while granting interim relief to Central Minister Arjun Munda, the court has put a stop to action against him and demanded a response from the government in the matter.

The next hearing is scheduled for May 8. Arjun Munda’s lawyer, Prashant Pallav, explained that the petition was filed by Arjun Munda one day before the Holi holiday amidst a siege at the secretariat against the primary investigation.

After the holiday, the High Court opened on April 2. That day, at around two in the afternoon, the matter was mentioned in court, urging for an early hearing with the filing number. Subsequently, the stamp reporting of the petition was done, and the hearing was scheduled for the next day, April 3. The petition indicated errors in five pages and misspelling of the police station’s name.

The court considers the petition’s errors as a non-issue. Prashant Pallav explained that they had relevant documents to rectify the problem and informed the court about it. The court stated that the petition’s errors are overlooked, but they will have to pay a fine of 1.25 lakh rupees.

It is worth mentioning that Central Minister Arjun Munda filed a petition in the High Court on April 11, 2023, to dismiss the primary investigation filed during the Secretariat March at Dhurwa Police Station. According to the petition, there was a clash between BJP workers marching towards the secretariat and the police.

This involved Central Minister Arjun Munda, Babulal Marandi, Raghuvardas, MP Nishikant Dubey, along with 41 named and several unidentified individuals against whom the primary investigation was registered.
