Social media platform ‘X’ has suspended the Jharkhand Congress account. It is reported that action has been taken in response to a complaint regarding the upload and sharing of an edited fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech from this handle. The account has been suspended with a message from ‘X’ stating, “An account has been suspended in response to a legal demand.”
In the same matter, the Delhi Police has summoned Jharkhand Pradesh Congress President Rajesh Thakur. He has been asked to appear before the investigation officer of the Delhi Police at 10:30 am on May 2nd. Rajesh Thakur has been instructed to bring his mobile phone, laptop, tablet, or any other electronic device, which allegedly might have been used to share fake videos on ‘X’.
BJP workers have also filed FIRs against two individuals at the Argora police station in Ranchi for sharing fake videos of the Union Home Minister. The named individuals include Shailendra Hazra and Rupesh Rajak. This FIR has been lodged on the application of Sanjay Kumar Mahato, the state office minister of BJP Yuva Morcha.
According to BJP workers, they have provided the police with a copy of the video through a pen drive. They assert that Amit Shah has never stated that reservations like those will be abolished. Fake videos not only defame Amit Shah personally but also attempt to mislead the country with false information.
