Anjani Soren Contests Lok Sabha Elections Again

Lok Sabha elections have concluded two phases, with the third phase of voting set for May 7th. Alongside the Lok Sabha elections in Odisha, there will also be assembly elections. In this scenario, Anjani Soren, the sister of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and daughter of Shibu Soren, has once again been granted a ticket from Jharkhand’s Jamtara for the Lok Sabha elections.

Anjani Soren, daughter of Shibu Soren, will once again try her luck in the Lok Sabha elections. She has been nominated as a candidate from the Mayurbhanj seat in Odisha by the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Anjani Soren suffered defeat. Voting in Odisha will begin from the fourth phase. It’s worth mentioning that Anjani Soren was given a ticket from the Mayurbhanj seat in the previous 2019 Lok Sabha elections as well. In those elections, she received 1,35,552 votes and secured the third position. The seat was won by the BJP’s Bishweshwar Tudu.

This time around, Jamtara has once again fielded Anjani Soren from the Mayurbhanj seat for the Lok Sabha elections. She will be facing off against BJP’s Naba Charan Manjhi.

The Mayurbhanj seat in Odisha is crucial, with a majority of scheduled tribes in the area. It shares its border with Jharkhand.
