Many people from various parts of the state undertake pilgrimages and travel for work to different places in South India. Due to this, there is often heavy congestion of general category passengers on trains in South India. In order to alleviate this issue, the Railways has decided to operate a special train for the general public from Ernakulam to Dhanbad. In addition to the previously announced train with general coaches between Coimbatore and Baroni, now there will be a special train for the general public from Ernakulam to Dhanbad. The train will run with additional coaches on both sides, providing relief to passengers.
From Dhanbad to Ernakulam in one day Both special trains for the general public will run from Dhanbad in a single day. The train from Baroni to Podanur, which goes through Dhanbad, will depart in the morning, while the train from Ernakulam to Dhanbad will depart late at night. The train going to Podanur will have 15 coaches, and the train from Ernakulam will have 22 general coaches. Two luggage vans will also be attached.
Halt at these stations The train will halt at Bokaro, Muri, Ranchi, Hatia, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Ambodala, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Vijayanagaram, Duvvada, Anakapalli, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram Town, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Perambur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, and Aluva.
Scheduled dates for operation Train 06077 Ernakulam-Dhanbad Special will run on December 18 and 25. It will depart from Ernakulam on Monday at 7:15 AM and reach Dhanbad on Wednesday at 7:30 AM.
Train 06078 Dhanbad-Ernakulam Special will run on December 21 and 28. It will depart from Dhanbad on Thursday night at 11:55 PM and reach Ernakulam on Saturday late at 2:30 AM.
Coimbatore-Baroni Special schedule Train 06059 Coimbatore-Baroni Special will run on December 19 and 26. It will depart from Baroni at 11:50 AM, reaching Dhanbad at 7:10 AM the next morning and Baroni again at 1:00 PM.
Train 06060 Baroni-Podanur Special will run on December 21 and 28. It will depart from Baroni at 11:45 PM, reaching Dhanbad at 5:50 AM the next morning, and Podanur at 2:45 AM late at night.
