In an effort to reduce traffic congestion, the Jharkhand government, led by the Soren administration, plans to build a pedestrian footbridge near Ranchi’s Albert Ekka Chowk. This bridge, which will connect Mahatma Gandhi Marg to the main road, will have lifts and escalators for pedestrian convenience. This project is expected to take 6 months to complete and has an estimated cost of18 crore rupees.

The footbridge’s design aims to combine aesthetics and practicality; it will have LED lighting and a glass dome to improve its appearance. Both the Ranchi Municipal Corporation and the Urban Development Department have approved the design. It is planned for construction to start soon after the land acquisition procedure is finished.

This foot over bridge’s main goal is to relieve traffic at Albert Ekka Chowk, a busy city junction that sees a lot of foot and vehicle traffic, especially during the rush hour. When finished, the bridge will provide a safe and practical route for anyone wishing to cross the street or go to surrounding businesses and marketplaces.
