Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officials of the Welfare Department to ensure the direct transfer of funds for cycles to the bank accounts of students in classes 9 and 10. This decision aims to empower the students by allowing them to choose and purchase cycles of their preference, while also eliminating any irregularities in the procurement process.

During a meeting with the Welfare Department on Wednesday, CM Soren conducted a comprehensive review of various schemes and projects, including scholarships, hostels, residential schools, skill development, and tribal empowerment. He urged the officials to expedite pending tasks and address issues related to land acquisition, tendering, and fund allocation. The Chief Minister emphasized the urgent need to enhance the quality of education and improve infrastructure in residential schools and hostels administered by the department.

Expressing his concern over the low enrollment of girls in higher education, CM Soren called upon officials to take proactive measures to encourage more girls to pursue advanced studies. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to providing equal opportunities and facilities for all sections of society, particularly marginalized and vulnerable groups.

This progressive step taken by the Jharkhand government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren is expected to enhance accessibility, transparency, and inclusivity in the distribution of funds for cycles, thereby promoting the overall welfare and empowerment of students in the state.
