to improve road transportation and accessibility in rural and remote tribal areas of the state, Chief Minister Champai Soren initiated the Chief Minister’s Gram Gadi Yojana from Morahabadi Maidan on Wednesday. During departmental reviews, directions were given to kickstart this scheme soon to enhance road transportation and accessibility in rural and remote tribal areas.
Connecting Rural Areas with Block, Subdivision, and District Headquarters
The Chief Minister’s Gram Gadi Yojana aims to connect rural areas with block, subdivision, and district headquarters, ensuring convenient transportation for people living in remote areas. Additionally, during this initiative, the Chief Minister will also distribute approval letters for the Abua Housing Scheme and allocate installment payments among beneficiaries through DBT.
First Phase to Witness Operation of 250 Buses
Notably, the first phase of the Chief Minister’s Gram Gadi Yojana will witness the operation of 250 buses. These buses will provide free transportation to senior citizens, students from schools and colleges, differently-abled individuals, HIV-positive individuals, widows, and Jharkhand activists. Bus operators operating on designated routes under the scheme will be provided subsidies on vehicle purchases.
