Before long, commuters taking NH-20 from Ramgarh to Ranchi will have to pay more as they pass through the Ormanjhi Toll Plaza. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through the National Highways Authority of India, has declared an increase in toll prices; the rates for private vehicles (Car category) do not change. The only categories where toll rates have increased are larger and commercial vehicles, which have seen increases of five to fifteen rupees. As of April 1, the new toll rates will be in place.The director of Hazaribagh Tollway Limited, Chetan Malwari, provided specifics, stating that toll rates are normally raised annually in accordance with inflation rates. The toll rates have gone up a little bit this year. For cars, jeeps, and light vehicles, the one-way toll is still 125 rupees. The toll for round-trip travel will now be 185 rupees as opposed to 190 rupees.
- Automobiles paying the toll 50 times a month will now pay 4205 rupees as opposed to 4100 rupees previously.
- Registered cars from the Ranchi district now pay a 65 rupee single passage toll instead of 60.
- Light Commercial Vehicles and Mini Buses: The one-way toll is now 200 rupees instead of 225, and the round-trip toll is now 300 instead of 305 rupees. From 6620 to 6790 rupees per month, the toll increases. District vehicles will still be required to pay the same 100 rupees as before.
- Double-axle buses and trucks: the one-way toll goes up to 425 rupees, and the round-trip toll goes up to 640 rupees. The monthly toll increases to 14230 rupees from 13875.
- Three-Axle Vehicles: The one-way toll is increased from 455 to 465 rupees, and the round-trip toll is increased from 680 to 700 rupees. From 15135 to 15520 rupees per month, the toll increases.
- HCM, IEMV, and EMV Vehicles: The one-way toll increases to 670 rupees from 655, and the round-trip toll increases to 1005 rupees from 980. From 21755 to 22310 rupees per month, the toll increases. Oversized Vehicles with Seven Axles: The one-way toll goes up to 815 rupees, and the round-trip toll goes up to 1220 rupees. The revised monthly toll is 27165 rupees instead of 26485. Ranchi district vehicles will now pay 405 rupees as opposed to 395 rupees.
Commuters using NH-20 will be impacted by these new toll rates, especially those going from Ranchi to Ramgarh. Starting on April 1, be ready for changes when you pass through the Ormanjhi Toll Plaza.
