Jharkhand Scholarship Scheme: Rs. 15,000 for Polytechnic Students, Rs. 30,000 for Engineering Students

Every year, students pursuing studies in government, private, and PPP mode-operated Polytechnic Institutes in Jharkhand will receive a scholarship of Rs. 15,000. Similarly, students studying B.E. and B.Tech in government, private, and PPP mode-operated Engineering Institutes will receive an annual scholarship of Rs. 30,000.

Manaki Munda Scholarship Scheme

This amount will be provided to students under the Manaki Munda Scholarship Scheme. The state government has released a commitment to implement this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

According to the released commitment, students enrolled in Diploma courses must have passed the 10th standard from Jharkhand to avail of this scheme. For lateral entry students, it is mandatory to have passed 12th or ITI along with the 10th from Jharkhand. Similarly, students enrolled in Engineering courses must have passed both 10th and 12th from Jharkhand.

Mandatory Requirements for Lateral Entry

In cases of lateral entry, students must have passed 10th and 12th along with a Diploma or B.Sc. from Jharkhand. This scheme will benefit students enrolled in the academic session 2023-24. Students enrolled prior to this will also benefit from this scheme for the remaining years. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Director of Technical Education for the implementation of this scheme.

Monitoring Committee

Similarly, a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner for monitoring this scheme. A portal is being prepared for the implementation of the scheme, through which applications will be accepted. Approval for the scholarships will be done by Jharkhand Technical University.

Mandatory Minimum Scores

Students benefiting from this scholarship scheme must achieve a minimum of 50% marks to be promoted to the next academic year. They must also pass all subjects. Failure to do so will result in the discontinuation of the scholarship.

Benefit to 4,200 Students Annually

This scheme will benefit 4,200 students annually. Each year, 3,000 Diploma students and 1,200 Engineering students will be provided with this scholarship. Thus, approximately Rs. 4.50 crores and Rs. 3.60 crores will be spent on this scheme each year.
