The Jharkhand government has made an important decision to help transgender people and make sure they are treated fairly in society. They have included transgender individuals in their pension program and have also put them in a category called “backward class” to give them special benefits.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, led a meeting where this decision was made. The government wants to provide financial support to transgender people as part of their social assistance plan. They will receive Rs 1,000 every month to help them financially.

In 2011, there were about 11,900 transgender people in Jharkhand, but now there are around 14,000. To get the pension, transgender individuals need to get a certificate from the deputy commissioner’s office. Those who are 18 years old or older and have voter ID cards can apply for this program.

The government is also working to make things easier for transgender people. They are planning to build separate toilets for them in hospitals, and they are educating people to be more understanding and accepting of transgender individuals.

Transgender people who don’t have any special reservations because of their caste will get benefits as part of the “backward category-2.”

The Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, believes this decision will help every citizen of the state feel respected and honored. It’s a step towards making sure transgender people are treated equally and have the support they need.
