Khelo Jharkhand Initiative Takes State by Storm, Unveils Exciting Plans for Youth Sports
The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) is set to revolutionize youth sports in the state with its groundbreaking initiative, Khelo Jharkhand. This initiative is on a mission to transform the young generation into champions and has been making remarkable strides in increasing participation at the school and block levels.
For the first time in Jharkhand’s history, teams from numerous districts have enthusiastically joined the state-level hockey competition. The initiative, which began with just a handful of sporting events, has now expanded to encompass a whopping 28 different sports, all aimed at encouraging every student to engage in at least one sport.
Stunning Logo and Theme Song Unveiled
JEPC has unveiled the official logo and theme song for the Khelo Jharkhand initiative, adding an exciting visual and auditory dimension to the program. The catchy anthem titled “Khelo-Khelo, Khelo Jharkhand” was composed by the talented music composer Rohan Dev Pathak, with lyrics penned by lyricist M Modassar. The captivating voices behind the anthem are none other than Harsha Bachchan and Rohan Dev Pathak themselves.
The logo is a masterpiece designed by a physical education teacher, M Modassar, and carries deep symbolism. It features four circles, with the outer circle comprised of 24 interconnected rings, representing each of Jharkhand’s 24 districts. The five vibrant colors of the rings symbolize not only the Olympic rings but also the five divisions and their respective districts within the state.
The second circle, highlighted in saffron, proudly reflects the “school education and literacy department,” mirroring the Tricolour’s first stripe. The third circle is a tribute to various sports figures and is adorned with white and blue colors inspired by the Tricolor’s second stripe. Lastly, the fourth circle boldly displays “Khelo Jharkhand” in both Hindi and English, using the vibrant green from the Tricolor’s third stripe, symbolizing the lush greenery of Jharkhand.
Exciting Competitions on the Horizon
State programme officer Dhirsen Soreng has unveiled an exhilarating competition calendar for Khelo Jharkhand, set to take place in the last week of September. “The National School Games 2023-24 will be organized, featuring sports such as Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Football, Wushu, Skating, and Cycling, all hosted in Ranchi. The preparations for this prestigious event are already well underway,” Soreng declared.
The Khelo Jharkhand initiative is poised to ignite the spirit of sportsmanship and holistic development among Jharkhand’s youth, opening doors to opportunities and dreams of championship for every aspiring student.
