IMD Issues Cyclone Alert for Jharkhand: Precautions Advised

A cyclone is developing in the Bay of Bengal, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for certain regions of Jharkhand. The alert will remain in effect today, July 16, and , July 17.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in several areas of Jharkhand, including Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, Lohardaga, and Khunti. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely to occur in these regions.

In light of the situation, the IMD has advised residents to exercise caution and, whenever possible, stay indoors. Additionally, drivers are urged to be vigilant on the roads due to the possibility of waterlogging.

As the cyclone progresses towards the coast of Bangladesh, it is anticipated to weaken. However, the IMD has issued a warning about the likelihood of heavy rainfall in certain areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal.

Residents and authorities are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and follow any instructions or precautions issued by the respective authorities.
