Ranchi: After running as a direct Ranchi-New Delhi capital train for 20 years, the train route has been changed. Now, the train will travel from Ranchi to Delhi via Lohardaga twice a week. In addition, the Ranchi Railway Division has proposed a two-minute stoppage for the Rajdhani train at Lohardaga Railway Station, and the proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Railways. The station has also been developed to accommodate the stoppage of the Rajdhani train. One additional platform and two new platforms have been constructed, along with a foot overbridge. The presence of only one platform was causing difficulties in the stoppage and operation of the Rajdhani train, which has now been resolved. The inauguration of the platform and foot overbridge will be carried out this week for the convenience of passengers. With the commencement of this route, people from nearby districts such as Lohardaga, Latehar, and Gumla will no longer need to come to Ranchi to catch the Rajdhani train.

Ranchi: The Ranchi-Lohardaga Rajdhani train route has saved approximately one and a half hours of travel time. However, passengers are not reaping the benefits they expected, as the intended purpose of reducing travel time to Delhi has not been fulfilled. The scheduled arrival time of the Rajdhani train in Delhi is still 11:10 AM, even after the route change. The railway authorities were unable to make any changes in the timing due to heavy traffic congestion in Delhi.

Ranchi: The railway has provided good news to passengers traveling to Lohardaga by introducing the Rajdhani train on this route. However, this change has caused inconvenience to passengers from Barkakana, Ramgarh, and Hazaribagh. These passengers used to board the Rajdhani train at Barkakana to reach Delhi

Ramgarh: Ramgarh houses a large military camp where movement of soldiers is frequent. Previously, soldiers had the convenience of catching the Rajdhani train from Barkakana, which was closer to their location. However, now they will face increased inconvenience.

Lohardaga: A proposal has been submitted for the Rajdhani train to have a stoppage at Lohardaga. Two platforms and a foot overbridge have been constructed and are ready for use. The inauguration of these facilities will take place this week. – Pradeep Gupta, DRM
