Introduction:
The Jharkhand government has eliminated the discrepancy in cycle grants among schoolchildren, which is a major step towards inclusivity. In the past, general category students received less financial aid than their OBC, minority community, and SC/ST counterparts. But this discriminatory behaviour is no longer being carried out.

As with students in other categories, general category students attending government schools will now also get financial aid for bicycles. Their bank accounts will receive a direct transfer of the allotted sum. According to a recent proposal from the Department of School Education and Literacy, minority, OBC, and SC/ST students will receive Rs. 4,500 towards bicycle assistance. Students in the general category ought to be eligible for the same amount
This proposal has the approval of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is also the Minister in charge of the Education Department. Different amounts for students in the same class under a single scheme would send the wrong message, department officials claim. Hemant Soren, the chief minister, has agreed with this assessment. Notably, students belonging to SC/ST, OBC, and minority groups were entitled to Rs. 4,500 for bicycles, while students in the general category were only to receive Rs. 3,500.
