Jharkhand Government Launches Pashudhan Vikas Yojna to Boost Farmers’ Income
The primary objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to farmers for the procurement of livestock, fodder, and other essential inputs. Furthermore, it offers comprehensive training to farmers on effective livestock management practices.
To bolster the scheme’s impact, the government has allocated a budget of Rs. 100 crore for the current financial year. Under the Pashudhan Vikas Yojna, farmers can avail loans of up to Rs. 5 lakh at a highly subsidized interest rate of 4%.
Approximately 1 lakh farmers in the state are expected to benefit from this initiative, providing them with improved avenues for augmenting their income.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Hemant Soren reiterated the government’s commitment to doubling farmers’ income by the year 2022. He emphasized that the scheme’s implementation is geared towards providing both financial and technical support to farmers, helping them optimize their livestock production.
The Pashudhan Vikas Yojna is under the supervision of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department, which has already initiated the registration process for interested farmers. Farmers can conveniently register online or visit their nearest animal husbandry office to participate in this transformative scheme.
