Jharkhand has granted permission for candidates residing in the state, who have cleared the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or the teacher eligibility test of neighboring states, to participate in the recruitment examination for Assistant Professors. However, they must fulfill the condition of passing the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) within three years of appointment and before the availability of the first opportunity.
Appointment Based on Merit List
Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has amended the advertisement for the Jharkhand Preliminary School Assistant Professor recruitment examination in light of changes made in the appointment rules as per the recent directives of the Jharkhand High Court. The commission also stated that candidates who qualify in the subject or subject group in which
they clear the teacher eligibility test will be eligible for Assistant Professor appointment based on the state-level merit list.
Revised Rules Bring Relief for Teachers:
The revised rules provide significant relief for para-teachers. They will no longer be required to score specific marks in various papers. In the recruitment examination, a minimum of 30% marks in the mother tongue subject, as per the secondary examination, will now be mandatory in the first paper. Similarly, scoring 33% marks in the fourth paper is now mandatory. However, this requirement will not apply to para-teachers. Additionally, para-teachers will not be subject to the minimum score requirement for appointment as Assistant Professors. It’s worth noting that 50% of the positions in this examination are reserved for para-teachers. This provision will continue to apply to other candidates as before.
