Jharkhand Government Approves 4% Dearness Allowance

The Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees and pensioners will increase by four percent, as approved by the Jharkhand government. Chief Minister Hemant Soren led a cabinet meeting where the decision was made. The government will be burdened with 454.77 crores per year as a result of this decision. In addition, the government raised the 42 percent inflation allowance for government pensioners and employees to 46 percent. The decision to increase the DA by 4% will take effect on July 1, 2024.

Approved in the same meeting on Friday, the Jharkhand cabinet, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, also approved a 1485 crore budget for ‘Ujjwal Jharkhand.’ Public holidays for 2024 were also declared, and 23 other proposals were approved. Next year, there will be 21 leaves under the National Industrial Act and 12 leaves under executive orders. Additionally approved was the direct recruitment plan for 13 applicants to fill the post of District Judge in the Superior Judicial Service.

At SSLNT Women’s College in Bokaro, a budget of 37.47 crores was approved for the building of the Science Block. In addition, 42.34 crores were set aside for the Ghaghri Wear Scheme in Latehar and 35.75 crores were approved for the Golai Wear Scheme in Chatra. An additional important proposal that was accepted included changing the requirements for IT/ITeS operations in industrial households. Furthermore, 213 crores were approved for the Kantatoli-Siramtole Flyover’s construction.
