By December 31, 2021, petrol customers in Jharkhand who use LPG cylinders must complete the e-KYC process; if they don’t, their subsidies will be stopped. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, e-KYC entails digitally confirming gas customers’ identities and addresses. Aadhaar authentication and OTP verification are used in this verification process in an effort to reduce fraud and stop ineligible people from abusing subsidy benefits.
Customers must use the mobile app or go to the website of their specific gas agency in order to finish the e-KYC process. They must enter their consumer number, email address, mobile number, and Aadhaar number. They will then receive an OTP on their registered mobile number, which they need to enter in order to verify their information. A confirmation email and SMS will be sent to them after successful verification.
Beginning on January 1, 2022, customers who do not complete e-KYC by December 31, 2021, will no longer receive subsidies in their bank accounts.
