Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, a popular Indian television actress, died in a car accident on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was 35 years old.
Upadhyaya was born in Mumbai, India, and began her acting career in the early 2000s. She is best known for her role as Maya Sarabhai in the popular television series Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai.
The accident happened on the outskirts of Mumbai when Upadhyaya’s car collided with a truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Upadhyaya’s death has been met with shock and grief by her fans and colleagues. Many have taken to social media to express their condolences.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of Vaibhavi’s passing,” said actor and producer Jeetendra. “She was a talented actress and a wonderful person. She will be deeply missed.”
“Vaibhavi was a part of the Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai family for many years,” said actor Sumeet Raghavan. “She was a joy to work with and a dear friend. We are all heartbroken.”
Upadhyaya’s funeral will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023. She is survived by her parents and her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
